A 300-bed high-end modern multi-super specialty hospital, expandable to 500-beds in future, spread over a total built-up area of 23,000 sqm in phase-1 on a plot measuring 3.75 acres, the hospital boasts of exceptionally efficient traffic movement pattern on a tight footprint. Moreover, this hospital achieves an optimum space allocation that works perfectly well for the tariff structure and overall business in the healthcare industry in India.

The design is a perfect response to the controls and compulsions of the site and its surrounding conditions. Moreover, it contains an overpowering design element at the main entrance that is quite unique in nature and can serve as a good icon for memory recall – it contributes immensely to the brand value of the hospital.

Internal layout planning of the building is based on international best practices regarding traffic control and asepsis practices. Internal traffic has been effectively segregated into restricted and unrestricted category and control is exercised through manual and electronic card access. Main entrance, emergency entrance, material entrance and staff entrance and exit are separate from each other and dedicated to the function. The building has a nice drop-off point under the entrance pyramid and it helps in facilitating crowd handling at entrance.

This project has been adjudged in the category of "the best healthcare design for 2011" by Archidesign Perspective magazine.

Situated on a 30 acre plot in Guwahati, Assam, it is a 1000-bed Teaching Hospital providing high quality treatment in all disciplines. The campus also houses a Medical College, Nursing College and accommodation for students and some essential staff members.

It is a modern hospital providing services to all segments of society. The key to the design has been innovation for achieving the tight financial goals of the project.

Design of the buildings on this site has a local flavor due to the use of sustainable local material like bamboo around the building and the non-flat roofs. The hospital is a spread-out development with low-rise buildings connected together with a race-course circulation spine. Most of the building blocks are designed for specific functions in order to optimize structural design. Roofing system is a composite one of GI sheets and bamboo and provides all functional goals desired from an RCC roof except longevity beyond 20 years. Bamboo envelope does not only cover the roof, it also engulfs the façade of the building in a big way. This versatile material has also been used liberally in creating sunshades over window openings all around buildings.

Internal layout planning follows a policy of creating correct and desirable adjacency relationships between various departments. Care has been taken in defining clear control points for segregating restricted and unrestricted traffic. The design creates infrastructure for employing best international asepsis practices in all critical care and therapeutic areas. The main entrance provides access to both OPD and IPD traffic and the lobby is designed to take such huge load for the entire hospital. Emergency entrance is separate and dedicated to the function and has ample space for handling large volume of patient traffic with associated crowd. Material entry and staff entry are also separate from the above mentioned entry points.
